Haleiwa Hostels - Paumalu Hale Hostel

It is located in a quiet area in front of Rocky Point, a mere hundred yards from the beach located in between world famous beaches, Sunset Beach and Banzai Pipeline, known for the International World Surfing contest during the months of October through March with incredible waves.

The beaches on the North Shore are uncontaminated, very clean and natural with golden brown sand and a lots of coconut trees. During the months of April through September the ocean is very calm and pristine clear waters, very nice for scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming, sailing, canoe paddling, windsurfing and enjoying the diverse marine life, such as sea turtles, dolphins, whales and all sorts of beautiful fish.

The house includes: rooms with king, queen and full size beds, bunk beds, complete sets of linens, fully equipped kitchen, remote control fans, and cable TV, VCR, DVD and CD player. Outdoors there is a deck with tables and reclining chairs, with cable TV, hammocks and beautiful country gardens. The minimum reservation is 3 days.

Comments: This hostel was fantastic! I planned to stay there 3 nights and ended up extending my stay for another 2 nights. It was clean and the property is beautiful. The beaches are within walking distance and Haleiwa is only a short drive away. Anyone that wants a relaxing vacation away from Honolulu should go here.

Comments: I went to Backpackers for one night and it was FILTHY (as had 4 others staying at Paumalu). Paulmalu is VERY clean, there are separate dorms (sleeping 4) for men and women and it is a beautiful, peaceful place. I am recommending it to everyone coming to Hawaii.
