Explore the East side of the island from this inn located in town at Palani and Kalanikoa. Conveniently located one mile from the Farmers Market, bus terminal, and picturesque old Hilo on the north, the airport one mile to the south, one half from the beach at Coconut Island and beautiful Banyan Drive, and one mile from the Prince Kuhio Mall. Nearby on Palani are a swimming pool, tennis courts, and golf course.

Hilo Pineapple Park opened April 2006 and the eight rooms are comfortable and cozy and reasonably priced. Cook your own meals in the community kitchen and relax in the community room and meet travelers from around the world. Kayak rentals are also available to explore the coastline.

Comments: I reserved a room months in advance here and at their Volcano side park. I was told they had a prior appointment and would be unable to open up for me at the Volcano side until late in the evening, thus forcing me to book a room elsewhere. There was no aplogy and I could've really been in a lurch with no place to stay.
