The Big Island is home to several very active volcanos where you can actually see rivers of molten lava flowing into the Pacific Ocean. Among Hawaii's volcanos is the tallest mountain in the world MT. Mauna Kea, which is actually 4,400 feet taller than Everest if measured from its base under the sea. From the bottom to the top, tropical rainforest, and miles of white, black and even green sand beaches! The island of Hawaii is also spectacular for snorkeling and swimming with the dolphins, and it's calm sheltered bays are a Kayaker's dream come true.
